    Facebook

Who uses it, why do you use it, what do you get out of it etc etc?...

I must admit, when it started up, i thought it was all a bit of a thing for teenages to bag one another, pick up etc etc, so i was never interested, a bit like this Twatter thing, seems a bit pointless to me.

But i ended up joining Fakebook, it's great to keep in contact with friends & family, i moved away from Melbourne with my lovely lady about 4 years ago so it's one way for me keeping in contact with my old mates, i also have a mate in the Army who is OS alot of the time, so it's also great to keep in contact with him.

You find that you cut down on phone cals as well, so it's financially a good thing.

It is also handy for family member who might go away on holidays and post phoyo's, and not having to sit down and go through all thses boring photo's for hours when you can just have a look at will when they post them .

    Re: Facebook

I use a lot to keep in contact with friends since i've moved away, and have discovered its use for finding old friends from school (Primary School and Kinder, even) and just general yeah. I have cousins overseas and stuff, so I can still see what they are up to, and talk to them (to suck up and have a place to stay over there without it being so obvious to what i'm doing..).

The down side to it is that unforunately you can hardly have a bitch about rellies on it, either.

I've joined a few Bulldogs groups, too.

    Yeah, I like it!

      Re: Facebook

I'm not on Facebook, I like my privacy.

But I did get Kevin Bartlett to mention the Brad Johnson Beer Throwing Skank (or whatever it's called!!) page on SEN this morning, so hopefully a few more people will join it!!

I'm on, spent a few years living interstate and many friends do so it helps me keep up with what old friends are doing.

Helps with stalking or staking out potential Moffettes at times too

I must admit there are a few things on there that annoy me somewhat, having a home page, you see all of your friends updates, and the amounts of sooking and letting everyone know your every single move, can get a bit tiresome, but yes, you have to be careful what to put out there sometimes, it can bite you on the bum.

That usually takes place for myself after a hot curry, and fortunatly for myself my better half isn't into those hot foods, so moffetting for myself is kept at a minimum.

                Re: Facebook

I'm on, and like it... I've been able to make contact with people I haven't seen or heard from in years. Both "local" and overseas. I mostly like it for simple communication, or looking at photos to see what people are up to. All the games and stuff are a novelty but for me that wears off... I periodically use the status "Andrew does not do requests"...and still get them sent! I cringe at some people updating every tiny little thing on their page -e.g. "John Smith is going for lunch now" - who cares??? I've reconnected with school and uni friends, as well as former students/teachers. Love it. (But no requests, please!)

Unfortunately if I didn't use it I wouldn't get invited to social events like Birthdays and Housewarmings..

I swear one day, Facebook or the new social networking excitement thing will be used for inviting people to Weddings, Funerals, you name it. Sad, but prob true.

But it is very addictive. Especially when you have it on your phone

Yeah i'm on there. I mailnly use it as a means to keep in touch with a U.S band that I'm the aussie PR for, but also for ex-work mates and my friends ofcourse. I try to keep family seperate so dont have cousins or anything as "friends". Its a cool way of seeing what people are up to
