I have just leapt into the 21st Century

After years of resisting, I finally buckled under the weight of my wife's constant pestering and agreed to get a mobile phone.
So I now have a shiny new iphone thingy......which is great..... apparently??

Any good phone tips from those of you out there who have not been a technological Neanderthal like me for years?
Things to look out for with mobile use? Pitfalls and traps. Newbie mistakes to avoid?
Any must have applications (for those of you who have an iphone)?
Any things I should do to get the most out of my phone?

    Thanks folks.

    Welcome to the space-age YHF!

Oh the fun you'll have with your new toy... inbuilt address book, calendar, multimedia capabilities... and it'll even make phone calls (although this could be the most difficult of all tasks to accomplish!)

On the serious side, I got myself into strife using my mobile for internet access... so that's my only warning.

Yes.. phone calls.......unfortunately my first ever phone call received was early this morning from my best (possibly now ex?) mate, who is a Saints supporter......

Cheers on the internet usage, warning. I've got 1 gig per month internet included... but as I have no idea how much usage will chew that up, I'm going to try and be modest for the first few months until I get a gauge on how much I can do without exceeding the 1 gig limit.

I've got an Iphone.. keeping updated with the best technology available is a must

        Best Apps
During footy season: Aussie Rules (about $4) but worth it..must have app for a footy nut. statistics galore and live scores.

Facebook app is really good if you use it, very cool to have on the go if your a FB addict. Also 'Tweetdeck' is a good Twitter app if you Tweet.
Paper Toss: Addictive game involving flicking paper balls into a bin with a hard speed direction
Wikipedia app is good, its an online app but it makes navigating Wiki easier
Metlink - Melbourne train/bus/tram timetable app very handy. Theres a similar Sydney one too.
Convertbot - Free app that lets u convert absolutely anything, handy for me when im overseas.
Shazam..very cool feature of the Iphone you prob wont use it on purpose but very cool capability where you record a small part of a song (on the radio for eg) and it analyse's it for you and tells you what it is and a couple simple clicks to buy the particular song
