    Strange Cousins From The Prince.

    Anyone see Clutch last night?

I was really impressed. I've only been a fairly recent convert, but the show was great. Neil Fallon has a great stage presence and is partway between singer and insane preacher. I thought the entire band was incredibly tight.

Aside from Neil, the band weren't interactive at all, but they didn't strike me as pretentious musos. They just seemed more like serious musicians who are actually pretty shy. I could be wrong, but the vibe I got from their show was good rather than contrived.

My personal highlight was "Sleestak Lightning" which is my favourite Clutch song right now. Other than that, it was hard to go past "Minotaur" and "The Mob Goes Wild". That being said, I loved every track and was even surprised by "Abraham Lincoln" which prior to that I hadn't much enjoyed.

Only disappointment was them not playing "50,000 Unstoppable Watts" or "Electric Worry". But you can't have everything.

What is it with f*ckwits geting on stage and grabbing the band members? Even though Neil brushed it off, you could see it annoyed the hell out of him. And it annoyed me too. Enjoy the show, but let them play!

Anyone buy the live cd? I tried to get it after the show, but no dice!

Anyway, glad I got to see them and can't wait for the chance to see them again some time. Dinosaur Jr next Friday. Sure to be loud!

50,000 Unstoppable Watts was a noted absence - no organ or harmonica player meant most of the Beale St album wouldn't be played. Last tour, two of the biggest songs for crowd reaction were Electric Worry and 10 0011 10101 which are quite organ heavy so both were absent last night.

Good to hear alot of older (pre-organ) material. I probably preferred the "bigger" version of Clutch with more people on stage but was still a great gig last night. The dead-eyestare Neil gave me full a full line and a half during Burning Beard was a personal highlight

      And slightly unnerving no doubt!

Yeah I caught them on their visit to brisbane last week.
They were great (as always) but I have to agree with Mofra, I like the addition of the organ a little better.
Especially as my fave album of theirs is Robot Hive/Exodus.

You're bang on with the preacher call, and yeah, they're just professionals.
