    Mohawk Charity Auction

Just heard a whisper that my mohawk auction proposal might be preferred to be done at Horsham camp instead of East Meets West Family Day (see Queensland Floods thread in Hyde Street Band Enclosure) whose committee have said no probs but it will Western Bulldogs call at the end of the day. Making it hard for me to keep others in the loop when the loop keeps getting moved yet, still no closer to having anything confirmed. Producer of Footy Show today has expressed great interest to get some footage for early season segment for before-and-after about the new teeth and getup (no, don't ask about getup and if you do know, don't blab ok, and that includes pms folks,) and he also liked that he could get footage for the sports news as a bonus. Interest from the papers as well. Offered a plug in both the big papers as well if I can give some lead-up. Sen programmers have said will help out with plug when I have details to announce. Printing of flyers on hold till details are known. Balance of cost of mounting/framing being paid tomorrow afternoon at Art Deco in Windsor before visiting my girlfriend at the Alfred Hospital up the road. Even the battery is charged for the clippers! I am so ready to go it is not funny.

I am so worried that they (WBFC admin) will now drag their feet and all the this could be for nought. With all that is going on in my personal life at the moment, I could do without disappointment being added to my emotional list of things to deal with.

Need to communicate this with club asap tomorrow and nail this down one way or the other.

    Re: Queensland Flooding

Spent the day waiting to be seen/called by Anna from Events and got the call at 5pm. Explained what has transpired since lodging original proposal with East West Club (a lot, especially commitments from media and a couple of pre-auction bids). Anna said she cannot make that decision, she would have to notify them and discuss it further. Seems I've got another day of hanging around like a bad smell waiting for an answer one way or the other. Frustrating, very frustrating.

P.s. my partner thanks you all for your kind words of support for her current predicament.

If I get the nod re mohawk auction, at East-West Family Day, I'll have Ch9, HeraldSun and The Age coming down and SEN plugging on the radio. Not bad with less than a week's notice for someone not much more than a loudmouthed, mohawked, Big Issue vendor who knows a rhyme or two, IMHO

Re: Dogs Community Camp - Horsham

The Mohawk Charity Auction Proposal is now officially not going to be part of any Bulldog function. Not East Meets West, not Horsham Community Camp, not the Whitten Oval Family Day and not the Season Launch.

The reason given is that as; if the club did hold the auction as part of one of the Bulldogs events, it would set a precedent and the club would then have to pander to every approach made by individuals.

As much as this is a great blow to me personallly, I will not be deterred. I will put some thought to this and come up with a new concept. As I have said in previous posts, the big mohawk and collar/leads are not part of my attire this year so I will pursue other possibilities.

I also have to return an envelope stuffed with $1000 to an associate (who wishes to remain anonymous) who wanted to bid but could not make Saturday if the auction went ahead at East Meets West. That's how keen he was to own a piece of memorabilia that is truly one-off.

May I say that I do understand the club's position and accept it with grace. I ask you all to do the same. So, please folks no vitriol towards the club or the staff involved. I will think of something. I always do.

          Mohawk Charity Auction Idea MkII

Left club despondent after geeting word that club was not prepared to include the mohawk auction as a part of any Bulldog Event. Got off bus in high spirits with new twist on original concept.

I have spoken to SEN about tentavely holding an auction culminating around 14th of March (my day of whelping). I have contacted both Joffa from Collingwood and the Catman from Geelong to approach their respective rank and file from the standpoint of; Who amongst you would salivate the most to have the opportunity to scalp the mad mohawk guy from the Western Bulldogs and can financially prove it?

Eccentric idea but just might work.
          Q. What's the difference between eccentric and crazy?
          A. About a million dollars

          Old joke but very apt.

SundaySun contact is pitching to boss this week to get more a than a paragraph in Psst happening. Got Footy Show still wanting to film cutting. Called Grant Hanson from Marngrook to fill him in and he's having a think and getting back to me asap with help/contacts/ideas etc. This thing still has some life in it yet. There is a pulse and it is strong and regular. And its about to stir the pot over on BigFooty (don't worry, ain't hanging around, WOOF thru and thru) Can anyone help me with a decent facebook page for the Mohawk Auction. Private message me with some details if you can. I'm all thumbs at that sort of stuff. .
More soon as soon as I have it.

How about we move it to the Entertainment thread. Unleashed is just about the Western Bulldogs.

                      Re: Mohawk Charity Auction

And now the announcement you have all been waiting for, officially, my Mohawk Charity Auction idea iwill go ahead. It will take place. At Riva St Kilda on the 6th of March 2011 starting at 3pm. Discussions have taken place between parties and all are excited at the prospect of raising some greatly needed funds for flood relief whilst also thanking some of the Emergency Services Search and Rescue personnel from Victoria who went to Queensland to assist.

Attendees will include the Premier, Ted Bailleu, Lord Mayor Robert Doyle, AFL stars and tv personalities. Will keep you updated as further arrangements will be made soon for pre-auction bids and times, ticket availability etc. With my partner possibly still being in hospital, I might be needing a plus one for the event so ladies (women with partners may apply with permission slips from home), keep that date open on your dancecards and you are in with a chance of being the chief leash holder for this demented doggie at a great evening for a worthy cause.

Just had a brainwave (surf's up all year round at this left-hand break). I might be able to value add and auction that experience as well, hmmn.

Hope it all goes well and that you raise a scheissenload for the cause.

Loved the look of the new suit as well, sensational.

Such a disappointing decision by the Dogs. Glad that you are still going ahead with it DD but in March the publics giving for Queensland will be at a much lower point.
