Agree on Hendrix, Gary Moore and Ingwie Malmsteen have always been two of my favourite guitarists.

On drums for a bloke with one arm Rick Allen was amazing.
And for a bit of diference have a look at Steve Moore, not the best but may be the most entertaining.

Dimebag Darrell Abbott from Pantera.
A great bass guitarist is Les Claypool from Primus.

Daney Carey has to be mentioned in any internet thread about drummers. It's in the constitution or something

Yes the drummer for Fela Kuti. Incredible.

I have no idea technically but the ones that seem to be talked up are John Bonham and Peter Moon.
Charlie Watt must be alright to be doing it 50+ years.
The Stax house drummer (booker t and mgs) Al Jackson jr is talked up.
Locally Pete Luscombe has been around for ages.
He talks about a lot about Bernard Lee Purdie who was a session guys who had numerous recordings.

Yep, amazing drummer. Matt Cameron was terrific as well.

Brann Dailor (from Mastodon) is also quality.

I hate admitting this, as he's turned into an uber douche-lord, but Dave Mustaine was a phenomenal guitarist.

Two of my favourite albums are FNM's King For a Day and Mr Bungle's California : Trey Spruance's work on both of these were magnificent. Any style he played, he did very well.
