Wherabouts in Essendon is that HOSE? I drive through Essendon most days and wouldnt mind checking it out. I bought a record player at ALDI last week for $40 and have been impressing my kids with my record collection. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: Top second hand record shops/markets
I used to religiously visit second hand record stores, still do a bit but nowhere near as much as i used to, lugging around crates and crates of vinyl is hard work.
Dixons were always good, there's one or used to be one near Glenferrie station called Alley Tunes which was great, mainly for DJ's but used to stock a huge variety of all sorts.
Not sure if it's still there but in Mornington on Tyabb road there is a huge second hand store/factory where there would literally be crates and boxes and stands of old vinyl and quite a few 7" singles too, there would be thousands but you'd need alot of time to pick through.
There's one in a little mall in Frankston who stock alot of vinyl and are well looked after as well across from Maccas and near Subway and an eye care shop.
There used to be heaps in the city, Batman records and Collectors Corner were always good, but you can always try Salvos, I once found a pile of 70's and 80's compilations for $1 each, they were all in mint condition.
Here in Brissy, Rocking Horse Music and Music Exchange in the CBD are good and stock alot of old records, there's also one in Springwood in a little shopping centre.Comment
