    Favourite James Bond

Was Connery, but I am now a Daniel Craig convert. Hopefully he stays for a while.

    Thoughts?

Connery I think is the best one followed by Brosnan who was very good as well.

Was watching a bond doco and Lazenby said he was offered a 7 x bond movie deal but his manager got him to pass saying that the franchise was dead. I wonder if he still talks to that manager?

It's not like he did much else after Bond, he should have milked it for what it's worth.

If Lazenby stayed for another 6 movies, I'm not sure the franchise would be still around today.

I saw Roger Moore before Connery and I didn't mind him as Bondy at all.

Connery and Craig are closest to the Ian Fleming vision and are far and away my favourites. Moore and Brosnan were both far too wise-cracking and flippant, Dalton was plain ordinary and Lazenby was unfairly maligned - not terrible by any means but a little Connery-lite.

Craig is a ripper and has re-energised the franchise.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of my favourites. Still think Lazenby was an excellent Bond albeit too briefly.

I think that's what endeared me to Moore and Brosnan to be honest.

Having said that Craig is a ripper. Seemingly out of nowhere and knocked all of the doubters for six.

Must admit I was not a fan of his appointment, but thought he may have shown a bit in Layer Cake to be OK.
First movie was solid, second disappointing and the third brilliant and has totally sold me.

Finally got round to seeing Skyfall last night. Craig is the best, great performance. Great movie.

Also saw it last night. Brilliant movie, couldn't believe how good it was.

How good where the performances of Craig / Dench / Bardem? Bardem in particular, he is fairly freakin good at what he does.

Bardem plays a great villain. Loved him no country for old men too.
