For me personally I love Scarface. It is a classic. Al Pacino was brilliant in playing the Cuban immigrant Tony Montana. The movie had a very important lesson to it. The soundtrack was brilliant also.

Although if 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' is classed in this genre then I would have to give it some series thought.
On another note I dusted off my copy of the Sicilian the other day and half way through realised it was nowhere as good as I had remembered. It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.Comment

Godfather 1 and 2 are classics. The 3rd Godfather which focused on corruption in the Catholic Church wasn't as good as the first 2.
Pulp Fiction - Another classic"Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"Comment

Godfather 1 & 2 are in a league if thir own. A bucket load of oscars and critical acclaim and scenes nd quotes from the movies a part of main stream culture.
Under that, anything with Joe Pesci beating the hell out of anyone. Love his scene in Goodfellas, "how am I funny. Tell me. Do I amuse you", classic cinema.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: Favourite Gangster Movie(s)
Pulp Fiction for mine. Cool, great actors, well directed ( three stories told simultaneously that join together effortlessly at the end, not to mention the different timelines) and a great soundtrack.
The Usual Suspects is also up there. Spacey's best role by far and the twist in the tale is brilliant. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

I like Untouchables. Not because it's the greatest movie, but I loved it when I was a teen, and the nostalgia value is there.

Mystic River central figure is a Gangstar, but not a Gangstar movie. Sensational nevertheless. One of my favourite ever movies.

Really enjoyed Millers Crossing, very real and a great dark feel to the movie. City of God also very good in my books. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment
