    Worst re-make movie

    It seems to be that Hollywood producers have run out of ideas and are just remaking movies.

    I literally just gave the new Total Recall five minutes, and geez I'm never going to get it back.

    So it got me thinking, what is the worst remake you've seen, or even heard about?

    I heard the Psycho re-make didn't get positive reviews.

      Everything Collin Farell does turns to poo. Have never seen a single movie with him in it that was any good.
      The trailer for Carrie looks pretty daft.

      Conan the Barbarian managed to be awful.

        Horrible Bosses is the exception to the rule. He should do more comedy because he's good at it.

          Haven't seen that.
          Have wasted precious moments of my life watching Daredevil, Phone booth, Alexander the Great and The Recruit.

            Both terrible remakes

              Really? I love him in In Bruges.

                Without turning this into a “Good Colin Farrell” thread, seen Crazy Heart?

                Worst remakes:

                * The latest Star Trek movies. Lens flare disaster, made to order for the Transformers generation.
                * Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp playing the same character these days.
                * Dr. Doolittle. Eddie Murphy jumping the shark.
                * Godzilla.
                * The Magnificent Seven. A shadow of Seven Samurai.
                * Last Man Standing. Remake of a remake.
                * The Omen.

                Great remakes:

                * True Grit
                * Fistful of Dollars
                * The Fly

                  Agreed. Roald Dahl's story was/is a favourite, and I loved the original (even though Dahl himself didn't!)... always found Willy Wonka a likeable character; didn't like Depp's portrayal at all.

                        Red Dawn remake was atrocious, none of the cheese and drama that made the original quality teen-action.

                        Charlie and the Chocolate Factory would have to be the worst though. Ruined it.

                          I reckon Eddie Murphy jumped the shark well before this. Try 'Harlem Nights' or 'Boomerang' on for size, not to mention the appalling 'Beverly Hills Cop 3'.

                          He's been so out of form for the last 25 years, he'll need Tarantino to salvage him from straight-to-video hell like he did with Travolta in Pulp Fiction.

                            Colin Farrell was also very good in seven psycopaths.

                            Agree with In Bruges and Crazy Heart.
                            More of an In Bruges guy?
