Confessional: 80's Music: Admit you love it.

I'm currently singing along with Foreigner, I want to know what love is. (Thus the inspiration for the thread).

    Anything Tears for Fears.

Hello, by Lionel. Plus the film clip!

Around 4,000 80's tracks on my iPod says it all for me.

Excellent. Maybe you can help me.

Wham! Released the album 'Make it Big'. Yet when the song 'careless whisper' is played or the clip shown, it references 'Make it Big' as being George Michael. I'm confused!?!

I love a lot of music released in the 80's, but it's probably not the music you mean...
          Park that car
          Drop that phone
          Sleep on the floor

Looking back, I'm not sure as a country we can top a period with Chisel, INXS, Flowers/Icehouse, the oils, Joe Dolce, Barnesy solo, the new guy fronting ACDC, the Angels, Aussie Crawl and Divinyls a heap of other really solid Australian acts like choir boys, sunny boys, models and with recycled stars like Farnham, Wilson, Braithwaite and the pub music scene which seems to be fading more and more.

But 'hello' from Lionel sneaks in too in a perverse way!

i loved the early 80's with New Wave Music, especially those coming out of Manchester. By the end of the 80's the best band for me was The Smiths

                    Long live Massey Ferguson!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Buzzcocks for mine. Then Joy Division. The Smiths are a mighty band though.

Careless Whisper is most definitely a GM song, but as you stated also on the Wham! Make It Big record, not too sure if Andrew Ridgely actually did anything anyway apart from photo appearances and crashing in high speed cars.

There are a few New Wave CDs compilations out featuring bands like Squeeze, Talking heads, The Buzzcocks, The Undertones, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Billy Bragg, The Cure etc, quite decent.
