    Favourite Progressive Rock/Metal Bands

Just interested to see what woofers favourite prog rock/metal bands are. The prog rock band I'm into the most is Tool.

Pink Floyd obviously come to mind as one of the early great prog rock bands.

    Motörhead.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I don't really like the Genre. I am surprised you say Pink Floyd falls into this genre?

Tool would have to be up there, too bad Maynard is such a knob and ruins the live experience.

If the option is progressive metal mine would be Enslaved, Opeth and MoonSorrow. I really see Enslaved as being Viking metal rather than progressive metal but they are often referred to a progressive metal act. I got into a lot of these bands when I lived in Norway in the mid 2000s. I prefer folk metal far more having metal undertones overlaid with traditional northern European instruments.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Musicians tend to be knobs. I've known/know quite a few and the number of nice ones I've met I could count on one hand.

Pink Floyd certainly were one of the early bands to experiment with there music along with early Genesis, Yes and King Crimson who are considered very influential in the prog rock genre as Tool have named them as a big influence.

Rush and Dream Theater are others that come to mind.
