Songs You Thought You Knew The Words To...

This a dob in yourself for sillyness thread to the songs you were singing, but not quite the right words.

I'm sure I've had more than I can think of... For a while I thought Paul Kelly was saying (to her door) 'he went to a brewery, stayed about a year'. Don't know why, just did. It sounded like something you'd want to do after she's just end walked out your *** door.

The Go Gos, '(something) Cecile' for our lips are sealed... As a very young un.

And the original singing of 'a funky town' is right, there's no town called 'funky town' that I know of.

But as stupid as that is, I don't need the words on screen for Khe Sanh like most. And I think I know Africa too.

You certainly are starting to rival ED for the most non related footy threads!

Ouch. Aza, ouch. As a fellow of 'In Zaine in the Brian' I thought we'd stick fat.

This will be my last non-footy thread for the off season, but watch out next December for a follow up to EDs busiest Melbourne roads thread!

I thought the lyrics of Cheap Wine by Cold Chisel were "She's wilder than a female goat" instead of the actual lyrics "Cheap wine and a three day growth". Sounds silly ... I know; but next time you listen to the song, have the female goat lyrics in your head !!!!!!!

Great thread, I could go on all night...

"Alice the seal" is a common one. A mates band used to cover that song, and would sing those words intentionally just for a laugh.

Jimi Hendrix' classic 'Purple Haze' is often misheard... ''Scuse me, while I kiss this guy' (Jimi himself sometimes sung this live ) so much so, there's an entire website dedicated to it.

KissThisGuy.com is a social website dedicated to misheard song and music lyrics.

That's as hard as I've laughed for a while...

Did ED ever find a good fish and chip shop?

I though the Skyhooks "Horror Movie" was "How Wa Wa Wa Nee" right there on my tv. Go figure...

'Alex the Seal' is another common mistake.

My wife used to think 'Creep' by Radiohead was some kind of spiritual hippy song. She mistook the lyrics in the chorus for "I'm a tree, I'm a river" instead of "I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo"

Footy season is upon us now so like BT won't be doing non-footy threads for a while.

I know I'm wrong but I'm convinced the bit before the chorus in Dinosaur Jr's The Wagon goes "baby warrawee" x2

Khe Sahn was just on the radio and reminded me of a mate years ago who thought the line 'Cow pads make me jumpy' instead of the correct line 'and carparks made me jumpy'.
We had quite a debate one night, his reasoning was that cow pads look like landmines.
To this day I still throw it in as a bit of a stir.

I'm not sure if it's me, but little things, odd things stick with in my memory for no apparent real reason over the journey and this I'm certain will be one them based on hearing the song yesterday. Thanks
