My ex-girlfriend left me on second trip to the Bannockburn battlefield in Scotland. I dragged her around there all day but she'd had enough when I went back the second day to finish it off. The problem started brewing at Hastings a few weeks earlier and reached a crescendo on the Drummossie Moor where she had to jump fences and had mud up to her knees just to see an empty paddock with a few flags stuck in the ground.

My position was that it may be highly possible that I never return to the U.K again so I am spending my time covering as many important historic sites as possible.

The only person I can effectively travel with is another history buff

Given what the archers had to do just to hold their position at Agincourt you've gotta question her devotion. All she had to do was climb a fence and wade through some knee deep mud. Sheesh!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It clearly wasn't true love. The whole irony of it was that we were both living and working in Stirling at the time (small village big chance to run into each other) and about three weeks after we'd split up I saw her getting a tour of the William Wallace Memorial with another bloke!

Rather than say England and France why don't you take your daughter to Scotland? A rich history and a beautiful country to look at. Have you been?
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

We are going to Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree and take the train to Kuranda and then maybe across to Darwin to see the Cuzs.

I haven't been to Britain but I am planning on taking The Boy there next year for some Ashes cricket and some Premier League.
