    Abc q & a

I tune into this show most weeks not every week. It generates good discussion on the issues with members of the media and political figures. Do you guys like it.

They tend to choose big characters to add some colour to the discussion, which makes it more entertaining for the average punter but reduces the quality of the debate. Usually depends who they have on as to whether I watch/enjoy it

Ill probably watch it tonight. Joe Hockey will be on talking about the budget. Be prepared to student protests on the show after what happened a few weeks back.

The youth of today need to be more creative with civil disobedience. Storming people doesn't do your message any justice, and if it's just anarchy you want do to other humans, don't bitch when you trampled by a police horse because they need to be called in next time.

Agree BT. Yeah I'm all for peaceful freedom to protest to get a point across but when you interrupt someone when they are expressing their views it does not help you. Democracy is about everyone getting a chance to have their say not shouting down someone.

Moreover, free speech means hearing things you don't want to hear, but the right to call out 'isms' when we want. I think we need a re-think on getting across points through civil disobedience in a creative way. But to Q&A, I will only do guest interviews, last years with Bill Gates was great. Think what you will, but our society has a long way to go with philanthropy like the US, that said Twiggy Forrest is doing some amazing things, really amazing things.

There were a bunch of priests who got arrested in Sydney at Abbott's and also Shorten's offices.
Done with dignity: had a silent prayer session for asylum seeker's children.

Tony Jones is a bit smug.
                  Not into the show.

His biggest misfortune is being related to Alan Jones.
Watch it occasionally, and enjoy it sometimes.

Watched last night's episode and thought it went quite well. As gogriff said earlier some weeks are great but others are just boring. Depends on the topics discussed and the people they have on.

When Christopher Pine is talking nothing of any real quality is said anyway.

The quality of debate is this country can be so poor what better options are there to really get your point across or raise awareness? You're right that democracy is about everyone getting a say but it's clear that the amount of say you get is vastly disproportionate among different groups and interests. The protestors got the attention they wanted but Q&A made the might call to stop the coverage after a certain point.

Q&A is a good avenue to help determine which pollies know what they're talking about and seem to actually care about what they're doing as opposed to someone like Shorten or Bishop who seem more self-interested than anything else.
