    Vale Robin Williams

Battled a lot of demons in his life and sadly it looks as though they finally got the better of him.
Loved his work from Garp, Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets, Mrs Doubtfire and many more great roles.

It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.

    Terrible stuff. Just terrible.

I don't care that I'm a grown man, Hook is still one of my favourite movies.

    Bangarang Robin.

        Very sad.

It doesn't matter how much money you have, how popular you are depression can hit anyone. Don't be afraid to ask someone who you may think is struggling if their OK.

Just seen this on the side of a website, figured it was another Bill Cosby style rumour, unfortunately not. Very sad, such a unique talent, such as sad way to go out. RIP Robin

The world has lost one of its greatest sources of laughter and joy.

Beyond being a wonderful and energetic comedianhe was a truly great actor who could to your emotions on their head with minimal effort.

                Nanu Nanu. RIP.

Very sad news. I remember my cousin sneaking me out of the hospital as a teenager to take me to an afternoon re-run of Aladdin at the nearby cinema to cheer me up after my second knee reconstruction. I must have watched it 50 times since over the years and Williams' genie always put me in a good mood.

His role in Good Will Hunting was another standout.

Incredibly sad news. Liked a few of his movies, but only found him funny occasionally.

                              Re: Vale Robin Williams

All of the tributes today have reminded me how many movies that he was in, were big ones for me at different stages growing up.

To name a few - Hook, Jumanji & Mrs Doubtfire were big 'family movies' when I was a kid.
Dead Poets society, Good Morning Vietnam & Good Will Hunting in high school days (I still HAVE to watch them if they are on TV) and the Birdcage is a funny flick.
I had never seen Aladdin before, and took my 3 year old son to see it when it was played at the Sun Theatre earlier this year. He dominates as the Genie.

Can't think of many who have been both brilliantly funny, but can also play a big dramatic role. He was brilliant.
