World Cup Quarter Final: Australia V Pakistan (Adelaide)

We'll be running separate threads for each of the finals Australia features in just so things don't get too cluttered. The other games can continue to be discussed in the general thread.

Some team news already coming through with the big Pakistani quick Mohammad Irfan being ruled out, it's a huge loss for their lineup, he's a tricky customer to get away. Probably the only question in the Aussie camp is deciding whether Cummins or Hazlewood plays. I'd be backing Hazlewood in, just that little bit more reliability to offset Starc and Johnson.

I'm an unabashed Hazlewood fan, so I give him the nod at this point of things with balance.

I think Cummins will get the nod. It will be interesting to see if they go with Watson.

Interesting injury, stress fracture of the pelvis. Although not a patch on Shoaib Akhtar's 'genital warts'

. That would be a long way to reach.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Is it just me or is Starc the worst sportsman going around?

After nearly every wicket he feels the need to give it to the batsman that is walking off.

I find that pretty weak to be honest, right up there with Brett Lee giving the chainsaw to some tailender that doesn't know which end of the bat to hold.

I don't have an issue with sledging, taunting the player Glenn McGrath style whatever but after you get him out that should be it, you have won, it doesn't require a follow up "get off the ground!" type remark.

If we win tonight, do we drop Finch or stick with him? Who could be the replacement?
More of an In Bruges guy?

These runs are not going to be easy to get.

Very good win by the Aussies. Weathered a fearsome storm but ended up winning comfortably.

That first 4 over spell by Wahab was thrilling stuff. There is nothing quite like express pace and hostility.
