Semi Final: Australia v India, SCG

Official match thread for tomorrow's game. I actually have this one going down to the wire. I'd like to see some wickets from Johnson, he's been okay but has padded his figures with cheapish wickets and Starc won't land that yorker forever

Finch also needs to get some runs on the board. It goes without saying but the more wickets you have in hand from over 40 onwards the higher the score.
More of an In Bruges guy?

That really hurts. Hopefully Smith and Finch can bat 15-20 overs and set a good base.

Interesting period here. Warner misses out again. Finch out there batting for his life....hopefully either starts finding the middle of the bat soon and break the shackles, or gets out. Can't really afford to have him scratch around for 40-50 balls and only get 20 because he is trying to bat through bad form.

Finch is really struggling, but grinding it out all the same and it's great that he hasn't thrown away his wicket. He really needs to ramp it up now and get up to a run a ball for the innings (currently 55 from 90). There's plenty in the shed.

As an aside, disappointing Warner hasn't been able to kick on with a big score a number of innings this World Cup (Afghanistan aside).

Need to wriggle on here. Think Finch can start taking a risk.

Yep - definitely time to really put the foot down. If Finch can turn 55 from 90, into 110 from 120....then its been a great performance.

This world cup has seen teams double their score from about over 32-33 with wickets in hand...will be interesting to see what Clarke does with the batting line up. We should be getting 300+ from here - hopefully 320+.

I'm so pleasantly surprised by how good a player he has become. Very impressive sling forward in his career.

Finch is really struggling to get them away. We can't afford him staying in if he can't hit the boundaries.

Smith is just a batting machine. And a big game player. Not surprising at all to see him on his way to 100 in a WC semi final.

He is an elite talent. He could become one of the all time greats.

His ability to take a game away from the opposition with an hour or so of batting is amazing.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
