    The England coaching gig

I guess this is more the 'we're going to miss out on Dizzy' thread as I really can't see anyone else getting it after Langer ruled himself out. It really is a shame as I think he's the best coaching prospect in world cricket at the moment, it takes a committed character to move to Zimbabwe for your first head coaching gig and it is a bit of a slight the states over here didn't see his value earlier.

If Gillespie gets the England gig it really does mean Langer will be Australian coach after Lehman, Lehman regularly talks about his shelf life in international cricket (I don't think he'll extend his contract after 2017) and has already spoken about the apprenticeship they're putting Langer through. He's got some great results with Western Australia but I'm still not sold for a few reasons: this WA squad is the most talented in state cricket, his fairly disastrous tenure as batting coach and his mix of John Buchanan spiritualism/Geoff Marsh relentless hard work has the potential to unsettle different characters. Lehman's great strength has been in uniting the dressing room and bringing the fun back into it, Langer is a far more intense character.

Interesting times ahead in the dressing rooms with the India gig opening up also

The Way England handled the Moores sacking was deplorable .
He found out via the media!
The whole Pietersen debacle was handled appallingly as well .
They're in a right royal mess, and I love it

I don't blame Gillespie if he doesn't take the England job. He can enjoy the fruits of his labours at Yorkshire and wait for the Australian job to become available. Leahmann has said that he thinks coaches have a limited shelf life at one team and won't extend after his current contract. Boof to Duzzy would be perfect. If Cricket Australia had any sense they would announce it now. Gillespief could travel with the team when his schedule allows as an assistant as a handover..
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
