    College Football coming to Melbourne

Awesome news for American Football fans with Etihad Stadium announcing that they will be hosting a College bowl game in 2016-17.

I've been lucky enough to attended an LSU v Florida Gators game and can assure you it was the best sporting event I have ever attended.

    Will definitely be attending...Can't wait.

Neat idea, but surely the college football experience will be lessened somewhat by not being at the colleges?

Pop up buildings with lashes of ivy. Add a touch of class.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Read about this on ESPN.com about 2 weeks ago. The game is likely to be played at the end of December, and it will mostly likely be an end of season bowl game between schools from the Pac 12 and Mountain West conferences.

Those 2 conferences have some famous college programmes, including USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and ASU in the Pac 12, and Boise State, Hawai'i, Fresno State, San Diego State, Nevada and the Air Force Academy in the Mountain West conference.

It wont be the first time a college football game has been played in Melbourne.....Wyoming played UTEP at VFL Park in 1985 and Colorado State played BYU at Princes Park in 1987.

Bowl games are generally played in neutral stadiums tho. If you have the marching bands under the roof at Etihad I think it'll be fantastic.

That's fantastic news, will definitely be there. I got 48 stitches in my leg from playing it a few years ago.

Safe to say it was my last game, but it's a top sport to play.

Young mister Two Dogs is quite a fan through watching the live telecasts during school holidays.

I got him a gridiron ball. Get the rotation right and it goes miles. Perfect for playing on the road out the front of the house. Indestructible.

Hopefully it'll give some inspiration for a new incarnation of the Hyde Street Band!

How good does it feel when you rip one, I was always preety impressed with myself when it turned right. I went much better at catching it.

It does feel good. The look on the other guys face when he realises he's too close is priceless.
