Re: First Ashes Test - Cardiff

Because the start was delayed I had to sit through the opening ceremony. It was godawful. They aren't going to do before all the test matches are they?

I still can't get Great Southern Land out of my head.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Concentrate on the next ball BAD. Dont worry about the last one.

Then you could finish with "That's gone" and stare at the bloke who dropped it.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Yep, plenty more to put down before this series is over.

If the Aussies show some application on that deck then they should post a decent score.
The issue is application, and not trying to hit every ball for four.

Yep and plenty more times the other players will go into bat for each other. ( pardon the pun )

You'd go a long way to see worse bowling than this. Both sides of the wicket, rank half volleys, and short but not short enough to get the ball up above waist height. Utter crap!

Let's not underestimate how flat the deck is though. This looks a great strip to bat on

Really glad we have Watto's experience in the team. Not sure we could have coped without his 8 overs of non-threatening, vanilla medium pacers.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Terrific innings so far from Rogers. He's done exactly what we wanted, taken the shine off the ball, the edge off the attack, and stopped England getting their front running game going.

He needs to go on, which has been a problem for him in Test cricket, but he's already done his primary job.

This is why I wanted him in the team and not S Marsh

That's the worse bowling performance I've seen for a while. No plan, no consintancy and far too many easy run scoring balls.
