What on earth was Ben Stokes thinking. Complete brain snap.
No-one does a capitulation quite like the English.
Saw on the ESPN website yesterday that Warner and Rogers have 14 50 run partnerships for the first wicket this year.
Why the hell Stokes didn't have his bat on the ground and slide it home. When Johnson hit the stumps, Stokes was over the crease except his whole body and bat were up in the air.

I think he jumped to avoid the ball. Just about the stupidest thing I have seen anyone do on a cricket field. And I have spent a lot of time around cricket fields watching and playing.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
Can't wait to see what England do, Lyth probably stays by virtue of them having gone through so many openers so quickly. Ballance has to go with that footwork, it's not going to work against good fast bowlers. Bell is lucky they won't be making wholesale changes. I think they'll be moving Root to 3, Ballance out and bringing in Bairstow at 5 as the form county bat.
Alex Hales would be the other one to consider, he bats 3 for his county but the selectors think of him as an opener and he's the only other batsman making runs. Would be a huge call to bring him in, possibly the ballsiest call by an English selection panel in decades. I think when he gets an opportunity they'll bed him at 6 for a few years but if they want to make a statement that this is a new, bold England as they've been saying, bringing him in to open or bat 3 would be putting their money where their mouths are

Yep. He seemed more concerned about protecting himself than his wicket. Strange thing to do for someone who's praised for his competitive nature.

Also did anyone see the English batsman in the first innings get given not out caught behind and walked? I'm trying to remember who it was, was it Butler?

Would you make any changes for us Lemmon given the wicket at Edgbaston will be dry?

Edgbaston and Lords are traditionally the quickest English decks so I'd be sticking with the same bowling attack. Apparently this summer it has been the dryest county pitch going around so I'm sure there will be talk of Ahmed but I think this attack has found their goove now.
The only change I'd be making is swapping Voges and Clarke in the order but it won't happen and probably rightfully so for the sake of stability
