What's your favourite: Watching Batting or Bowling?

For me, watching the bowling is far more entertaining than batting - especially in test cricket. With the proliferation of bashing formats of cricket I like watching bowlers execute talent and plans as opposed to more big shots/runs. It helps with having a very good attack in test cricket and looking ahead to Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins & Pattinson and Lyon doing so well.

I'm more of a fielding man.

I like to see if each fielder looks toward the captain after each ball, whether they are walking in with the bowler and yelling encouragement or are sledging the batsman. If fieldsman are standing on their toes or on their heels and hustling between overs or wandering slowly. How many of them want the ball when it's being thrown back to the bowler. That sort of thing.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It depends on the tempo and the teams but to me both can be equally enjoyable as can watching the strategies with field placing's.
Unless it is to try and save a test, I can't stand watching the Nations who for the majority take a defensive attitude with both bat and ball.
Best thing about watching the Aussies and South Africans is they are always trying to get the upper hand and don't play dour cricket.

I have to say on a spinning deck I enjoying watching the contest between batsman and bowler. To me it brings in every facet of the game. Close in fieldsman, it sorts out the best keepers and has batsman using their feet and bowlers aiming for the rough spots on the pitch.

Sure it's great to see good quality quick bowlers but good spinners on turning pitches probably just has a bit more of my interest but watching Australia we have had some of the best quick bowlers around and maybe I just want a contrast.

You get more cricket crammed in with spin bowlers too. Not having to wait for the fast bowler to walk back to the top of their mark has a couple of advantages, the fielding team can control the tempo of the game because the ball is 'live' more often and you get through the overs quicker so you can bowl more balls at the batsmen.

Give me a good technique batsman any day, very rare with this one day stuff turning players into baseballers who just swing away on small boundaries and get away with it.

I enjoy watching us bowl. Against good teams I get a little stressed thinking we are going to collapse when batting.
