Agree. Steyn best by a margin. Philander is fascinating to me, he skids them through and only has modest pace (usually low 130s), but gets wicket after wicket by his control, subtle variations and sheer competitive spirit. He's great to watch.

Pace bowling is so much about length and Philander's is impecible. Hits that lovely spot that draws you forward with a hint of movement and has that action where the ball almost seems to pick up pace after pitching. Would be a shame of these recurring injuries really rob him of longevity

True. So many of Philander's balls are hitting the top of the stumps (or similar height just outside off). Keeps batsmen playing so slight movements create results.

          Philander is incredibly consistent.
He's pace ,or lack of it.hurts him on our shores.
Good move from Amla, as he's a great cricketer but seems introverted .
This might sound odd, but the poms scoring so quickly ensured there was still plenty of time left, and hence kept the game alive .

Well the third test ended up a bit of a mess. At lunch it's 10 run difference after an innings each and they are saying what an enthrallling test this will be, by end of the day game over, SA all Out for 83 ENG 3/74 win by 7 wickets.
Talk about throwing the towel in. England can't lose the series now.
Root got a ton and Broad 6/17
SA didn't have a batsman pass 50 in first innings either.
            Bring back the biff
