    Maria Sharapova fails drug test from Australian Open

    She didn't know a medication she'd been taking her whole career had a change in status from WADA to banned from 1 January 2016. She has stated this will end her career, and takes full responsibility for not knowing and that the onus was on her and she let herself and supporters down.

    Obviously the tennis powers that be actually discharge WADA rules to protect the game no matter how innocent the mistake. Isn't it refreshing to hear a professional athlete and governing body saying these things about doping violations that occurred in Melbourne, Victoria. What a contrast.

      What a silly fool - fancy taking responsibility for what enters your body and not bleating around playing the innocent victim card. Mind you she is Russian and we all know what a pack of cheating bastards they all are

      She'll get 2 years and not complain about it.

                      Wait for all the EFC apologists to come out and say "yes but she tested positive, not like our boys". Where that argument fails miserably is that none of Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, etc.. ever tested positive either. Stupid people.

                                  Maybe she can band together with a few other banned athletes and keep fit by hiring the services of a guy whose been working as a mortgage broker for the past few years but was involved in a doping regime years ago. He'd be the only man for the job. It'd be crazy for WADA or anyone else to think otherwise.

                                      Marion Jones tested positive for EPO, but the B sample was negative and so she was let off. She did admit to using performance enhancing drugs.
