Dar needs to be investigated for match fixing.
People are turning away from cricket because they have little trust in it anymoreBut then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment

Mark Waugh has guaranteed Mitch Marsh's place for the second test.

Re: Australia vs South Africa
Craddock made a good point yesterday saying that Marsh is averaging less with the bat than his age. I know we are looking to give him a fair chance to deliver on his ability but we aren't good enough to carry any player at the moment. Concerning that Henriques is being mentioned as a possible 3rd test option if Marsh continues to struggle with the bat. We are nothing but 100% committed to having an all rounder at number 6.
The best batsman outside the side is Joe Burns, bring him in at 6. Voges and Nevill are the other two I'd seriously consider dropping for Hobart.Comment

Re: Australia vs South Africa
It's beyond a fascination to always play an all rounder now, it must be a bylaw. Guaranteeing a bloke who has 23 with the bat and 38 with the ball is well passed support. Picking an all rounder who is an inferior batsman & inferior bowler (because we simply don't have a good enough one) is crazy, Agar has a test 98 so perhaps he could bowl some seemers if he wants to get back into the side. Frankly, if the selectors continue to treat the baggy green and public with contempt then as much as I prefer test cricket, I will do what I did yesterday and re-watch the Grand Final and lose interest all together until the pull their head out of their arses. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: Australia vs South Africa
And the argument has from selectors has always been that you need the third seamer if one on of your main bowlers goes down, tell that to South Africa.

I'd just about have Sayers in before Siddle as well.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Australia vs South Africa
If I could select players based on the style of play that I want to see playing for us at the moment I'd have Cam Bancroft at 3 and Sam Heazlett at 5. I'm just not sure who to put at 6 but it has to be a batsman first if we don't replace Neville with say Handscomb which is a risky selection.

Does Wade come into thinking? I wouldnt because I still don't think his keeping is at the standard but he'd definitley bring some grit to the lower order.
Our keeping stocks really are poor at the momentComment

Re: Australia vs South Africa
I know I'm in the minority, I've said it for awhile, Wade could play at 6 as a specialist bat (ave. 35. 2 centuries, 3 fifties). He's got a lot more in his batting than Marsh.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment
