    Classical bowling actions

Michael Holding had the nickname of Whispering Death because of the way he glided to the wicket before sending down one of his thunderbolts.
Dennis Lillee and Richard Hadlee had very similar bowling actions and were regarded as classic actions.
We also had a pair of Pakistani greats that had great actions, Wasim Akram was all business off a fairly short run-up and Waqar Younis had a great side on action.

Two others that stood out to me were Malcolm Marshall who hit the crease at full pace and followed right through plus one I liked from a bit of left field was Dirk Nannes.

Which bowlers did you regards as having classic bowling actions?

    Re: Classical bowling actions

I really liked Rodney Hogg's bowling action. Straight run up slightly bent forward at the waist with the arms pumping. Hoggy ran in a straight line to the bowling crease and then just let it go. Nothing complicated, massive effect.

I used to like that sort of cross foot thing Max Walker and Lance Cairns used to bowl with.

But Lillee was the one we all tried to imitate when I was a kid.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
