The only thing more lamentable than Nick Kyrgios and his match throwing, is a considerable portion of the Australian Open tennis crowd.

    What a bunch of dickheads.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

But there's a sense of romance about them being together.

TBH I don't quite put Kyrgios in the Tomic basket yet. He's clearly battling some psychological sporting demons and hides his frailty behind his ego.

If someone could find away to go beyond the facade and tap into what's going on I think he could be "saved" (in a sporting sense).

The bloke he played is no slouch, funnily enough Seppi was 2 sets up with match point last year and ended up losing. He has obviously learnt a few more tricks since then.

I know Seppi's no slouch, the match you're recalling was in 2015 though.

I nearly said "I think it was last year" I was being lazy, should've checked.

I like Nick Kygrios. He dislikes tennis as much as I do.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

For me he is far worse than Tomic. Tomic is basically just an idiot kid who as he has grown older is doing less and less stupid things.

Kyrgios flat out doesn't care and doesn't try whilst also being an idiot kid with a massive ego.

Jim Courier said during his round 1 match that he'll never win a grand slam until he hires a coach.

                    Hard to disagree.

I don't mind Kyrgios to be honest. He's a still a kid, with more maturity to do and a lot going on his world. I also liked his press conference, there was a fair bit of honesty and critical self reflection which if acted upon could make him #1 in the world as John McEnroe has said he could be if he gets serious. Roger Rasheed whose past players include Hewitt, Monfils & Tsonga has said he'd love to coach him. Not every kid is like Marcus Bontempelli off the sporting arena. If he's still doing the same things in a few years then sure, he can get bundled in with Mark Philapousis as way too good to never win a Grand Slam. Until then, I hope he works his mind, body and game out because he could be really special.

Really? Interesting as that part infuriated me. "Maybe I could take pre season more seriously" Thats a terrible statement to make IMO

As unlikable as Hewitt was for a considerable part of his career he was a hard worker and at least honest with himself well before the age Kyrgios is now.

He acts like a pill pure and simple, and when anyone calls him out for it he calls them haters. Funnily enough it seems his colleagues think he's actually a nice enough guy (Warwrinka probably doesn't), I think largely because they see a more restrained version of themselves in the spoiled and ultimately overindulged cheese dick he is.

It's actually harder to be the unpleasant person he portrays himself to be rather than just a regular guy. If he put half that effort into playing tennis, and hired a coach to help him along the way he'd be much better off and much happier.

Agree. He's a massively insecure kid masquerading as an arrogant tool. He's also not bright enough to pull off the act convincingly. The whole I don't care about tennis, and I don't need a coach reeks of someone terrified if they give it their best they might fall short, so they give themself a series of excuses for not succeeding.

Hewitt acted like a tool when he was young, but that was because he was so determined to win he couldn't control his emotions. I'd take that over a pampered sook everytime.
