    Bernard Tomic

Did anyone see his interview last night?

If so what were your thoughts?

Didn't see it. But I doubt it changes my mind that I think he's a knob. I think I had a thread on it years ago. With successful role models on the tour, I don't know why we have a few knobs.

Spoiled brat. Should lose all sponsorships and Davis Cup spots
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

          Good advice.

Then we are a mile away from Bernard Tomic, and, we've got his shoes.

Didn't he play Davis cup in the left year?

It's an interesting one. He says it is just a job but if anyone made comments like that they'd be sacked.

If I'm promoting an event I wouldn't even want him playing in it.

I'm fairly sympathetic to his view.

Lots of people say they don't like their job. The tennis mafia paying out on him should try and understand what a tedious sport tennis is. It would destroy my soul to have to play it.

I really don't care about Bernard. He can do what he wants, he is not playing in a team, so he is not letting anyone down, other than his fans (if he has any)

Yep exactly. It's the same as golfers preferring to play tourney ants for personal gain rather than represent their country at the Olympics. They cease to be Australian sporting identities in my eyes, they are just in it for the money.

I don't understand why people get so emotional about him

Sponsors (if he has any left), Tennis Australia, little kids.

The guy obviously has either no understanding of his privilege, or no care. Either way, he can just bugger off into the sunset.

Aussies are a parochial, patriotic bunch. We love our sports, and more often than not, our sportspeople.

I know that, but he is not representing Australia, he is from Australia.

I'm not so sure about that because he's turned his back on the Davis cup and therefore his country as well. Personally if I was running the Australian Open I would ignore the rankings and make him go through the qualifiers until I was convinced that the paying public wasn't going to have to endure a half arsed effort.

Once he stops automatically qualifying for tournaments and it starts impacting his pay cheque his attitude might change.
I can't believe any sponsor of his wouldn't have terminated his contract by now.

I wouldn't be inviting him to tournaments either.
