One of the very best. I wish we could clone him and get Ch7 & Foxtel to use them.

Very sad to hear. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

The World game show in the 2000s with Les was popular on SBS on Sundays running from 12pm to 6pm.

        Re: RIP Les Murray

In my time watching sport in this country, there has been no more iconic broadcaster than Les Murray.

To watch Football in this country was to invite Les Murray into your loungeroom. The Australian media is poorer for his passing. The World Game will never be the same.

RIP Les Murray, and thank you.

Was he ill? I hadn't heard anything , very surprised, grew up loving his multicultural accent.

That's the same way I thought of Les. He was the face of football in Australia. A true legend. He wa also very analytical and provided great insight into the game. Like Richie he will be sorely missed but he leaves a huge legacy and has helped put the sport in the mainstream. Thank you Les.
