Why on earth are such well paid athletes so deficient in a significant part of the game .i.e playing spin and temperament.

We just refuse to select players with temperaments suited to test cricket, it's like they lack the neccesary charisma to be successfully marketed as international sportsmen or something. It's far more important to pack the team full of dickheads strutting around full of their own importance who think a good game must be a quick game.
