    Sporting stories

Who would you like to spend an hour with over a beverage talking sport to?

I don't have a widr range of sporting interests but I can list a few and the people I'd like to talk to

Football - Gerard Whateley - More around the laws of the game and the tribunal findings etc
Football - David King - General football styles and trends
Cricket - Gideon Haigh, Darren Berry, Jim Maxwell and Kerry O'Keeffe
All sports - Dennis Cometti and Adam White
    Swimming - Nicole Livingstone

Is there others that you like to listen to?

I've played park cricket against Gideon Haigh. He's a world class sledger-it's really funny hearing that voice you associate so closely with a real love of cricket and speaking so eloquently about it questioning your ability and asking theatrically what you were thinking of playing a shot eventually or if you think you are playing test cricket
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I would have loved to talk to Ted Whitten or Charlie Sutton about football.

I'd love to talk to Shane Warne about leg spin bowling. He might be a bit of a sad tosser now but the boy was a genius with a cricket ball in hand. He could have ripped a ball off an ice rink. WOOF poster Rex Whitehead came around my place once. Rex was the umpire who gave Gavaskar out which led to Gavaskar attempting to stage a walk off the MCG prodding his not out partner along in front of him. Hearing Rex tell the story was one of the funniest things I have heard. "So Greg Chappell comes up and says..."

Football - Love to talk to Bevo about on field tactics, if he would open up of course.

Cricket - Ricky Ponting and Kerry o'Keefe would be a great laugh.

Horse Racing - any one of the great trainers, TJ Smith would have been great

        Tennis - Nadal

Golf - Tiger Woods when he was number one

George Best and ask him why ???
Muhammad Ali, because who wouldn't want to ?
Ian Botham and the upper class snobbish politics that are ripe in English cricket.
