I enjoy seeing an Australian getting through a few rounds. I hope we can someone from both the men and women to push into the 2nd week.

Hewitt and Groth are paring up for the doubles aren't they?

I reckon Kyrios will have a good tournament and go deep into week two.

And yes, for some bizarre reason Hewitt and Groth (any relation to the two Erics do you know?) are entering the doubles.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The Erics have an E at the end of their surname.

You've got Grothe, which rhymes with Growth, and Groth, which rhymes with Broth.

I thought I read somewhere that Sam Groth had been sounded out by Boomer Harvey to play for North Heidelberg. I could have been imagining things.

Good opportunity for him with three of the major players under an injury cloud

If he can keep his head screwed on for two weeks, and worry about his racquet instead of the officials he's more than capable of winning.

If he finally relents and gets himself a good coach and listens to what they say he could be #1 in the world within 12 months. He's that talented.

Isn't he managing an injury as well?

Kyrios is always managing injuries. Hopefully he can train smarter and get his body right. A lot of the top players on both sides are pulling out with injury.

Really glad to see Tomic not handed a wildcard.

Have never been to an AO, but I want to see Federer live before he retires so will try to get a ticket for an early round match.

Hopefully his form holds firm for 2018 & beyond.

I’m such a big fan of his. I truly hope he can get things right and he will be so so so hard to stop.

First time I went to the AO it was at Kooyong! I can't remember the year but I saw Billie Jean-King beat Andrea Jaeger(I think) in 3 sets, and John MacEnroe play Andre Agassi on an outside court.

I haven't been for 16 years, but will be going on Wednesday night. I am not a massive fan of tennis, but should be good live.

Yep, like most sports I don't mind it live but I wouldn't call myself a fan.

But when we were kids we just went because it was fairly cheap, the best in the world played on the outside courts and you could pretty much stand on the return lines and watch Jimmy Connors go at it with Stefan Edberg or Ivan Lendl give some qualifier a 3 set lesson. Where else could you see that on your school holidays?

Great to see Matthew Ebden get through against 16th seeded John Isner.

Sam Stosur currently locked in a 3rd set fight to get through
