I don't think the bowlers did too badly considering their lack of experience, we were just 20-30 runs short. We were looking good to push towards 300 before Smith somehow missed a full toss and then Maxwell did what he often does and threw his wicket away.

I thought Ingles or Carey should have opened rather than Connolly. Carey batted fantastically before he ran himself out, he has become such a reliable batsman.
I do feel like the selectors have got it wrong with some of their selections. Connolly as an opener was flat out wrong. Why was Abbott not given the chance to lead this attack>? Spencer Johnson didn't work.

Connolly was horrible in Sri Lanka when given a chance, tried to belt the ball for six from ball one basically, the fact we played him again in a big final to me shows the selectors are just trying things and hoping for the best rather than playing players on form who actually deserve a game especially an opening bat, Maxwell too was just shithouse, hit a nice six ball 2 then played this cross bat slog type of thing that deserved to get him cleaned bowled, another player you just cannot trust.

One batsman we can trust is Steve Smith and a shame he's hanging up his ODI boots, big shoes to fill.

Unbelievable curving balls gave the keeper no chance.
