    Olympic Games

Who's looking forward to the Olympic Games?

    I can't wait!

There are some sports I much prefer to watch than others.

Love the swimming, just annoyed the finals will be swan in the mornings to accommodate Yankee TV!

    Also love the athletics too.

I never pictured you for a fan of Synchronised swimming, Synchronised diving, Show jumping and Dressage. Some of them aren't even sports.

Whats worse about this years Olympics, Roy & HG aren't doing a program so the 'exciting' stuff like Gymnastics and Greco-Roman Wrestling will just boring again.

Yeah, there's a few 'sports' I struggle with and it gets worse every Olympics. One day they'll include snooker and darts.

I used to enjoy the running, but last 2 olympics just havent been interested, drugs and money just make it another useless thing that has lost its reason for being.
I did hear that the english are focussing on beating aus for medals in the next games, and they are putting heaps of money and experience into it.

Would be no different to including shooting as far as I'm concerned.

Sounds like he's been on the turps. The only point of interest for me is the medal count at the back of the paper. A summary if you like without all the boring bits. If the clay shooting was conducted with live birds or after 5 strokes of the 50m freestyle sharks were released or runners of the 100m were chased by tigers that would be interesting. The Romans did it right.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

                    Re: Olympic Games

Unfortunately the drugs issue has tainted the Olympic games for me.

Having said that some of the track cycling is good to watch, and I do like to watch the 100m track final. Just to hear Bruce name all 8 runners twice, in a race that lasts under 10 seconds is pretty amazing.

The Football is good but rarely do you get to see a full game. "It's always back out to the football to see what's happened out there" sort of stuff.

Personally, I don't think anything you can do in your garage should be in the Olympic Games, so I will not be watching any of the Table Tennis. Unless of the course each table was actually a Pub Pool Table with two pieces of green chipboard placed on top and a half rebuilt Torana is strategically placed so one player has to negotiate it each time they try one of those cross table backhands that just clips the edge of the tape along the side of the chipboard.

You are missing a great chance of seeing Miao Miao go for a medal in the Olympics then. She is a terrific player.

I still cannot understand why Soccer is an Olympic sport. Is there any other game that puts an age restriction on a players? What is it, under 23 with 2 overage players!!!!!!
To me it should be the best teams each country can assemble or drop the sport from the games completely

Any sport where the ultimate prize is not an Olympic gold medal should not be in the Olympics.

But within different sports you would have events where people's attitudes would differ.

Say within the cycling road race you would get a different opinion from Cadel Evans and say Stuart O'Grady. Realistically O'Grady as good a cyclist he is will never win the Tour de France so may put a bigger emphasis on the Olympic road race which he could win compared to Cadel who would put the Tour de France as has no.1 priority.
