Khawaja has copped a couple of good deliveries but he doesn't appear to have an answer for it. As you say, England will look to exploit that.

This is where we need Green to stand up.

I really hope a batter or two gets off to a fast before we face England. The likes of Marnus, McSweeney, Sangha and Renshaw could all be considered.
I'm a believer in Green's talent - I think he gets runs tonight. Watching him, it feels like it's just around the corner where Khawaja and Konstas look a lot more at sea.

I would like to see Konstas tried down the order before he is dropped , maybe 5 or 6 , see how he goes with an older ball.

We have a modest lead of 254 heading into day four. Webster aside our batters got starts but failed to capitalize on them
We will hopefully score another 30 to 40 more runs and a lot of that might come from Carey
Green and Smith batted well together.

Australian could have defended 100 against probably the worst batting line-up I've ever seen, and I've been watching cricket avidly for almost 50 years (since the World Series Cricket era). It is really sad to see such insipid batting techniques and basic lack of concentration and fight from an international test nation with such a rich history of success - the Windies actually have a couple of gun young quicks but those two will never have enough runs to play with and defend, such is the absolutely garbage batting line-up they possess. You can't have international batsmen averaging high 20's in first class cricket getting a run and expecting to succeed.

Australia are just going, but their world class bowlers will always keep them in the fight. We haven't learned much at all about Australia on this tour - batting is still weak and heavily reliant on Smith and the middle order, bowling is still top shelf.

All out for 225. Probably a decent enough total given the pitch but still shows that our batting is brittle. As Sedat has mentioned the Windies batting line up is deplorable- although there is some potential in King and Campbell. It is more their application than ability. But the rest of the batting is ordinary (Shamar Joseph is in their top 3 batters).

so we should win this comfortably

Konstas is not going to make it, unless he drastically changes his technique. His head is way outside the line of the ball.

He looks an LWB, bowled or caught behind candidate almost every ball.

So Konstas has failed again. I get the feeling that selectors have failed him. Plenty of talent but a very confused batsman at the moment.

How have they failed him? He has been given 6 innings against a really poor opponent (pretty good bowling line-up to be fair) and he hasn't come close to measuring up.

He's supposedly a better player of pace than spin, so he was no guarantee to succeed in the 2 tests in Sri Lanka that he wasn't selected for.

He has significant technical flaws in his game that need a lot of remedial work - he needs to go back to first class level, iron these out and churn out the big runs before he is considered for the test team again IMO.

Whatever we think of the Windies batting their bowling attack is excellent. Seales, Joseph and Joseph are what you can build a team around. Just need to find consistency in the batting. They have some potential just don’t have the ability to fight it out.

Just a guess but he seems to have changed his approach a few times in his short career and that can't be good for him.
We aren't just talking about minor tweaks there has been a couple of significant adjustments
I was going to say earlier that perhaps Michael Di Venuto isn't performing like he should as the batting coach.
Players techniques are questionable and the shot selection and match awareness has been lacking for a few years now.
I'm not sure how Konstas can improve things but his confidence is probably shot and hopefully the coaching team can work with him on that.
