    RIP Darrell Eastlake

In amongst all of the other news of the world of late, I had no idea that Darrell Eastlake passed away aged 75 on Thursday.

A one of a kind commentator who went all in with any sport he covered.

I can't remember which Commonweath games it was (Edinburgh maybe?) but after the first day of completion they had to soundproof big Darryl's commentary booth. The other media outlets were having trouble with his volume levels milking through into their mics!

    He was an enthusiastic man.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He debuted in Brisbane in 82, calling the Lawn Bowls with Ian Maurice.

Yep, Darrell Eastlake called Lawn Bowls. I'll be smiling the rest of the day on that bit of info.
