    World Athletics Championships

Gotta love the World Athletics Champs.

Mondo Duplantis deserves his own thread. What a legend 6.30m incredible (Bubka held the record for 20 odd years at 6.14m). 4 x world records this year.

Jess Hull racing tonight in the final of 1500m

Reece Holder semis of the 400m

Yuan Reath in the High Jump final.

Torrie Lewis running a PB in her heat was an amazing effort. A huge amount of potential with her.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Jess Hull. Risked everything chasing Faith for a Gold. Was lucky in the end to hang on for Bronze but I loved that she had a crack.

She is our first ever medalist at the World Championships over 1500m. The blue ribbon distance running event. What a star she is.

She 100% risked it all for the win. Was running on a treadmill those last 50m though!
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Another PB this time in the 200m. Finishing 2nd in her heat behind Asher-Smith. Lewis is a star in the making.

She's quietly pumping along, with Gout Gout getting all the fanfare.

Gout Gout looked like a genuine little man against the field tonight. He has so much maturing to do physically. He brought it home really well in his heat, but will need to get his head in the game to meet and beat his PB, which would be an amazing outcome in a world championship field.

He is only 66kg at 180cm. A lightweight indeed. Still lots of muscle to add to that frame.

He's actually grown a little bit and is 183cm now, not sure about his weight.

It's funny because until I read that recently I had always assumed he was taller.

                          Thanks for that information.

To put that into context. He is the same height as Rhylee West and shorter than Tom Liberatore and Lachlie McNeil.

For reference the height of the 2 best 200m runners of the modern era is:

                            Johnson - 185cm
                            Bolt - 195cm

And one of the best current sprinters in Noah Lyles is only 180cm. Bolt was unusually tall and obviously ridiculously good.

Gout's height won't be an issue, he just needs to continue to develop his strength as he matures physically.
