This could only be contemplated by an anti Liverpool faction.

It is a ridiculous premise.

If they called off the rest of the season, they would still need next season's fixtures to go ahead.

Liverpool now just 6 points from having the league actually won.

I'd be more worried about a rise in CV cases meaning Liverpool clinching in front of an empty stadium at this point. There's no way Liverpool won't be getting a cup...the lawsuits for a start.

I'd be more worried about a rise in CV cases meaning Liverpool clinching in front of an empty stadium at this point. There's no way Liverpool won't be getting a cup...the lawsuits for a start.

The law is a funny beast and law suits can go both ways. Yeah Liverpool might sue but the could the other clubs could come up with a counter suit. They could easily say "hang on, they haven't secured anything yet. We are still a chance to snatch this" And I can't see where they would be wrong in law until they get those six points.

They’ll play the games. It might be to empty stadiums, but as long as there’s healthy players, they’ll play. They can likely cope with a loss in revenue from punters but a loss in TV and sponsorship revenue would be dire.
Liverpool will have a title to celebrate in 2-3 weeks.

Yep. They are going to win it, it may be in empty stadiums and with no street parade but they are winning it.

I don't know. The players will still have to be in contact each other.

What happens if a player is carrying the virus but is asymptomatic and then goes on to infect Ronaldo or Messi and either died or had their career shortened? Could you imagine the numbers involved in that law suit?


It's easy enough to just assume that Liverpool will be the EPL 2019-20 champions but there is a lot of water to go under the bridge before then. I'm not saying that Liverpool are not going to win the title-they probably will but there is now a chance (and it's growing) that they won't.

Games will never be cancelled, just played in empty stadiums. Just like they are in the Serie A atm .
