First test: Australia v Pakistan - Brisbane

How good is it to be back in whites!?

It feels like Aussie cricket is in a pretty good place at the moment. The Urn has returned, the best since Don is batting 4 and we have more fast bowlers than we know what to do with.

Everything seems placed for one of those vintage summers where we trounce lesser sides that can't cope with the bounce, the heat and the crowds.

    But...

I think this Pakistan side might actually have a fair bit about them! Babar Azam is a player, Azhar Ali has been successful out here before and in true Pakistan style, they've brought out three teens that are all rapid. Combine that with our brittle batting and we may very well have a good series on our hands!

    The Aussie side is in:
    Burns
    Warner
    Labuschagne
    Smith
    Head
    Wade
    Paine
    Cummins
    Starc
    Lyon
    Hazlewood

We wait and see with Pakistan.

    Happy first day of summer!

I agree Lemmon. The Aussies are good, but I can see the Pakistani bowlers getting a shift on with the ball and ripping through that top order like a warm knife through butter. The key for Pakistan is whether their batsman can deal with the Aussie pace bowlers. If they can see off the new ball then I think we will toil in the field. Get 2 or 3 and we will skittle them,

Wasim Akram would love to bowl to that Australian batting line up.

Is Paine the only bloke in Australia who thinks Cummins shouldn't be taking the new ball?

First time ever Australia haven't taken a wicket in the first session when bowling first at the Gabba.

It was literally one of those test match days where every time I walked out of the room another wicket fell.

Daaadd. You missed another wicket falling.

Then it was the quote of the day. Harris isn't playing for Australia but there is for for Pakistan

Australia are piling on the runs 0/148. Good to see both openers getting runs. Hopefully the selectors will persist with Burns (obviously they will in the short term given he is currently 62 n.o

Warner has already passed his entire ashes runs total.

21 no balls not called by the umpires in the first 2 sessions. That is farcical, they need to come up with a technological solution if the umpires are incapable of calling them.

Get rid of the umpires is the simple solution, watching for no balls isn't difficult for professional umpires
