    Vale Pim Verbeek

    Pim Verbeek, the Dutch football manager who led Australia to the World Cup in 2010, has died aged 63.

    Tributes immediately flowed for Verbeek across the Netherlands and the rest of the world. He is best remembered in Australia for being the first manager to lead the Socceroos through a World Cup qualifying campaign in the Asian Football Confederation.

      Awful news.

      Pim Verbeek give the socceroos a base to work from from. He gave us a bottom that our performance couldn't fall below or we knew we were in trouble.
      They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
