Second Test: Australia v Pakistan - Adelaide

    Australia unchanged:

Australia XI: David Warner, Joe Burns, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, Travis Head, Tim Paine (c & wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood

    Pakistan have made 3 changes:

Pakistan XI: Shan Masood, Imam-ul-Haq, Azhar Ali (c), Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Shaheen Afridi, Musa Khan

Haris Sohail, Naseem Shah and Imran Khan make way.

Unusually for Adelaide there is rain forecast for all five days. The pink ball may need to do it's thing under lights to get a result.

1/70 and the rain just keeps falling...
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The score is ticking along nicely, Warner 67no, Labuschagne 58no and Australia 1 for 132

Marnus currently averaging 53.50* in 17 innings, 2 Hundreds, 5 Fifties, across Dubai/Abu Dhabi, UK & Australia. (10 wickets, 12 catches too)

          Not too shabby.

That's a bloody good record especially with the wickets thrown in. And Marnus will filed in that short leg position (he was born to field there-did you say Colgate? Why are you going on about toothpaste?-was a beautiful bit of sledging)
I hope he actively tries to develop his bowling and doesn't just let it go like a few have recently. I know they both had back problems but I would have liked to see Michael Clarke and Steve Smith bowl more.

Time to envoke the mercy rule. They're clearly D grade players, filling in at the A grade level.

Mark Waugh was one of the most talented cricketers I have seen for Australia but despite his 20 test centuries he only scored over 150 once. Labuschagne has now 2 scores in excess of 150 (in succession)

I know Waugh was often playing against better opposition than Pakistan is at present but we might have unearthed a batsman capable of building some big scores.

335 is incredible but it somewhat depresses me that Warner will now definitely be taken on the next tour

There is a bit of talk about how he should have been given the chance to get Lara's score but I do think Paine made the right decision

I see Mike Hussey has anointed Marnus Labuschagne as Mr Cricket 2.0

There were a lot of questions bout him as a test cricketer, this summer should answer that in the affirmative

With the likely hood of rain, it was the right decision. Team first before individuals.
