    Presidents Cup Golf

A fantastic start from the International Team going up 4 points to 1 against the much higher ranked Yanks.

With only 1 win and 1 tie in the events history, this is the best chance we have had to notch a win in a very long time.

Anybody heading out to Royal Melbourne? I'll be there tomorrow with the old man to see the best golfers in the world hopeful lose to the ragtag Internationals.

Hey Axe Man what did you think of the event overall? Not sure if you've been to Royal on a tournament set-up before, but it's a pretty amazing place isn't it?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch much of the event, aside from the last few holes that saw the Yanks secure victory. There was always going to be a possibility of them producing a backs to the wall come back after all the crap the galleries had been heaping on them, and it came to fruition.

I'm returning to Melbourne for good in a week's time, and really looking forward to playing the game again at my home club in Mordialloc.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I played at Royal Melbourne on a TNT Gold Day quite a few years ago. Very tough course especially for hackers like me.

Was lucky enough to have a day out when I played there about twenty years ago. Played the west course and loved every minute of it. If you can find a fairway and hit it reasonably long it doesn't play too badly if it isn't windy or too tricked up with quick greens and long rough etc.

Would love to play it again.

Sorry just saw this. I've been to Royal Melbourne and most of the big sand belt courses for tournaments, go most years. I think the setup was pretty good considering how much bigger this event was compared to any other tournament I have been to in Melbourne. Even when Tiger played in the Masters years ago it was nothing like this.

Given you only have a handful of groups on the course at any one time (other than the singles on the Sunday), combined with huge crowds it made it very difficult move around freely. We would setup and watch the groups play through and then move ahead of them and wait again. Didn't bother eating as the lines for food were crazy, beer lines not quite as bad at least.
