A great article on the drawn Trans Tasman test in 1987, when Mike Whitney held out Sir Richard Hadlee in the last over to salvage a draw.
But anyway I stopped at Jean's house to drop some grocerys off that she had bought and I had carried home for her. Her brother Billy was in the lounge room watching the test match so I sat down to watch the final wicket fall and I was still sitting there 20 minutes later thinking much the same thing as Mike Whitney was.
But the thing about Mike Whitney. He was never beaten without a hell of a fight, and I'd had more confidence in him in surviving that over more than I would have backed in some of the batsmen in that team. Whitney was a competitor. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
