Veteran seamer Peter Siddle has announced his retirement from international cricket, informing his Australia teammates of his decision ahead of play on day four at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

And he's not a bad bloke for a Richmond supporter.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Long, distinguished career. A real workhorse who was often called upon to do the heavy lifting when we really needed it.

Hope he continues to go around for the strikers for a few more years yet.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Good move for both parties although Tasmania do have some emerging quicks

Emerging quicks often emerge more quickly when they play alongside an experienced campaigner.

Along with Jackson Bird and now Siddle the Tasmanian quick bowlers will have plenty of experience around them but it probably also means reduced opportunities for them
