    Horse racing

I don't bet but I grew up around the corner from Flemington race course and I can vividly remember the excitement and parades on a big meeting day.

And those meetings were never any bigger than when Kingston Town came to Melbourne-especially a Cox plate day (I love the Cox Pate, it's pure horse racing at it's best-the horses just line up and go for it and the best horse wins.

Anyway I just wanted to say that Kingston Town Cant Win:

How good are some of those horses in the third Plate? My Axeman? Grosvener? Isle of Man? LA Bijie, Fearless Pride?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Thanks TD, I loved Kingston Town, what a horse he was. I still get tinkling up my spine watching that, especially the 3rd Cox Plate.

How good was the great Bill Collins, the best race caller I have ever heard. He is especially good in this great race:

    FFC: Established 1883

    Premierships: AFL 1954, 2016 VFA - 1898,99,1900, 1908, 1913, 1919-20, 1923-24, VFL: 2014, 2016 . Champions of Victoria 1924. AFLW - 2018.

Workmates own a couple of horses .. A beautiful night which ran in the blue diamond, made all us gamblers a few dollars in races leading up To it , including me :-)
The other one is Captain Harry which we think should be used as a child’s playhorse.

Nothing does that race justice quite like watching it unfold.

The strongest race field ever assembled in Australian Racing History.

Love that race even though I did my dough on Palace Reign. Didn't know that Super Impose was an 8 yo. Gets in Let's Elope's slipstream and then just gets the nose in front. Mick Dittman got up and rode in the next race.

I love how Mr Floppy includes 3 different racecalls in that song. It's a bit like one of Al's octocalls of a football highlight.

One of my kids can almost recite that call from memory.

I backed the winner but for a place.

Sad another horse had to be euthanised.

I had Confrontational in the fifth and Outrageous in the sixth. $5 for the win on both. I was a short half head away from a return of $120 for my $10. But I won $35 on Outrageous so I'm still happy.

Had Stratum Albion in the cup. I think they had to hold the start of race 8 up because it was still finishing.
