    NRL Grand Final

The one game I watch a year. Good attacking game thus far, storm taking an early lead.

League seems to keep evolving which is good, the game seems more skillful by hand and foot. The commentary seems to have an inherent bias, whoever the main specialist commentator is thinks Penrith is being stitched up and is all over Melbourne albeit being eight points down twenty-five minutes in...….

I won't claim to be up with the rules, but I do like how their is a review with an explanation live from the reviewer as to how the decision is ratified.

2 Storm tries against the onfield ref's call and 2 Penrith tries overturned with at least one against the ref awarding it.

Storm 22 nil up and they have had things go their way, but perhaps that is experience working for them.

Need to hold up in the second half, unlike the experienced Geelong, who fell away badly after half time.

I have no idea either, but that was some nice work by Cam Smith in the final minute. NRL goal line technology looks a million times better than the AFL.

Panthers are absolutely dominating, they are 0-22 ahead according to Gus Gould

                Make that 0-26.

Perhaps someone needs to explain to Gus that the scoreboard is actually more important than field position.

Until it doesn't and they botch a critical part of the decision and a try is awarded.

and then they ignore the apparent rules and give Penrith a try.

Whoa! Did that get squeaky bummed at the end of was it just close on the scoreboard? I love rugby but didn't watch the GF because I'm an Eels supporter and cracked the sads because we missed out.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It was actually a good game. Penrith were a bit stiff in the first half from the perspective that they weren't, given it's a new era and scoring is governed by close monitoring and adherence to replays - but in the old days they'd have been right in it.

In fact, of all the reviewed scores they benefitted the most from a clear overrun to behind and kick that resulted in a goal that was incorrectly ruled legal by the review board in the second half to put some pressure on.

The Storm were in the end a bit cleaner in the wet because they're a bit classier and that's what got them over the line.

V'Landys rule changes have made the game so much faster and more enjoyable to watch. Tonight was an excellent showcase of that, even in the wet conditions.

Happy to see the Storm get up - 6 premiership wins (2 disallowed) and 10 GF appearances in 23 years is a hell of a long dynasty.

What do you know about dynasties!!!!!

Agreed on the rule changes. Also, the Storm are clearly the best performed club in mainstream domestic sports over the last couple of decades.

Never will I say channel 7 AFL commentators are biased. The whole game was rooting for the panthers. Then in the national news after the game: "Melbourne are premiers but not after an amazing comeback from Penrith. Penrith going down by 6 points."
