Another enthralling day of test match cricket, although we were on the end of some fine bowling (our batting is very brittle though).

Anyone else love watching Bumrah. Already one of my favourite bowlers. He bowls at a good pace, 140kmish and is a very smart bowler. Has the ability to work over batsmen through his ability to bowl a variety of quality balls. Rarely seems to bowl a bad ball. Only realised that he is already 27 and only played 15 tests. Bit of a late bloomer.

Yes, I love to watch him. Gee he has a short run up and yet bowls at 140 plus

Our batsmen seem to be completely out of form.

I love watching Bumrah. Everything about him screams decent dude, talented and pretty amazing to watch. He starts off a spell as low as ~131km p/h and gets it up around ~142km p/h. Is he a bit of a Wasim Akram in his own time, in that he can make the bat so uncomfortable even before the ball is released?

WTLF is 100% right in what we as fans think about and try to forget in five minute increments when we're at the crease......we are brittle AF at the moment.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Got a bad feeling that India cash in today on a deck that should settle down. We really needed to open them up last night with that drop from Marnus an absolute heartbreaker.

Wasn't the pitch a good one? Something for the quicks and spinners if you bowled well.
Our batting seems to lose wickets in pairs, 2 for 35 became 3 for 38. 4 for 124 became 5 for 134 and then 6 for for 134

We don't have the batting application for tests unless Smith or Labuschagne make runs and Marnus seems to have lost his patience.
I wonder if playing one day and T20 cricket has changed his approach?

We need to find a number 5 and 6 with a better batting technique which is difficult given Pucovski's challenges and Kurtis Patterson hasn't got the runs to earn a recall
Should we consider players like Ben McDermott and Matthew Renshaw who seem to have got good techniques and have the patience required for test cricket

Jeff Thomson had a shortish run up too.

India on top today but by not much. If we get another wicket that can change. Good chance still that we won’t give them a big lead.

Love watching Bumrah. Just a smart, smart cricketer.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

You weren't wrong with this assessment although I didn't think it was an easy deck to bat on

Rahane's run out was a welcome wicket for us

India dismissed for 326 and have a handy 131 lead.

Yeah, I thought our bowlers did a decent job reigning them in but given how frail our batting line up is, 130 ahead is probably more than enough. India to win by 5+ wickets is my tip.

Geez Burns is in strife, nearly run out trying to steal a single and I'm not sure how he survived that LBW decision and as I write he's just been given out with a snick.

Lets see if the selectors have the guts to make the hard call on him

Reckon that decision will be pretty easy. Think justifying his selection for third test will a harder call for the selectors esp if either Warner or Pucovski are available.

I think there are some concerns on both
Warner still isn't running at full tilt and Pucovski has had just one batting session since the concussion
I'd hate for Warner to re injure himself

He is just not up to test standard. His 4 centuries have been against weaker opposition.

If he is not dropped for the next test, then Langer needs to be looked at.

                                Stats from Swampy:

Joe Burns in First Class games this summer

                                10.4 avg
