    New Zealand cricket

How good are they going right now?

Best batsman in the world (Williamson), a giant fast bowler taking wickets for fun (along with some handy teammates) and a Test side that is just humming.

Pretty envious of what they're achieving at the moment, great to watch and seem like utter professionals.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Apart from Neil Wagner, they were slightly worse than putrid against a semi-decent Australia last summer, Williamson included. They are like the Cats - very strong at home, but short of the level against the best.

I would like to see them back in Australia with Kyle Jamieson as their all-rounder. He looks genuinely world class and only came into the team after their disastrous tour of Oz last summer.

I do like the team a lot, but I want them to be far more competitive against Australia. They have been awful in Oz pretty much since Hadlee and Crowe retired, except for one drawn series in the early 00's

New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel became only the third bowler to pick up all 10 wickets in a Test innings, achieving the feat against India in the second Test at the Wankhede Stadium.

India have to start owning that they're a very good cricket team.
They still seem to get spooked. Hence after a draw in the first test, they've produced a massive turner for the second Test.
They've got enough talent to beat sides without falling back to to old methods.

Or, everyone should put up the equivalent of the shit/unfair decks they dish up every time they host other nations. Oh wait, the BCCI will get the sads..........

Cricket administration is piss poor across all nations, but the shit India can pull is nuts.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

And the main takeaway from me is that India could /should be rubbing everyone's nose into how good they are. But they keep protecting their home turf and Not backing their talent by producing rampant turners when they feel threatened.
They're doing a disservice to themselves.
They're going to be the pre-eminent test team for at least the next decade: they could frank it by winning on fair decks instead of home favoured ones.

Is it just a matter of playing to the home audience? India has a huge offshore following, but given the population the cash cow is right at home. I agree that cred's always going to be an issue for them, but is the BCCI even worried about that? They just want wins on the board

Nice win by Bangladesh over New Zealand

Bangladesh beat New Zealand for the first time in a Test match at the 16th attempt with a stunning eight-wicket victory at Mount Maunganui that snapped the World Test Championship winners’ 17-match unbeaten run on home soil.

And NZ have been performing well in test cricket for a while now, such an even team with only Williamson that I would regard as one of the best in the test cricket. There are a lot of very good cricketers.

Well done to Bangladesh who I think were missing that all-rounder.

It’s claim dependent, but I’m assuming at least a good 12 months.
