    Vale Shane Warne

The media are reporting that Shane Warne has died from a heart attack in Thailand at the age of 52.

I'm stunned. I honestly don't know what to say. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Hopefully they can come to terms with their loss.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

WTF. This cannot be true. I mean I know it is but man this is devastating. Arguably the 2nd greatest of all time. What a loss. Like all of us he had his flaws but what he did for cricket goes beyond any words that one can express. He was poetry in motion when he had that ball in hand. No one will ever be able to do what he did with the ball.

      Vale SKW.

What is the greatest Shane Warne moment?

Obviously the Gatting ball is unforgettable, but I’ll always remember being a 13 year old kid staying up through the middle of the night during the 1999 World Cup. South Africa all over us and well on the way to knocking us out of the tournament…until Warnie took over.

We have been truly blessed to witness a once in a century cricketer.

Terrible terrible news. I first saw Shane as a 16yo playing full forward in a students verse teachers match at Mentone Grammar. My girlfriend, at the time, son told me he was going to be a champion cricketer. How true he was. RIP Shane.

Kayo has a bunch of stuff up paying tribute including very recent interviews. Can’t watch any of it, too sad.

I felt so sad when Rod Marsh died but I just can't believe this one is true, I think I'm still in shock.

We were so privileged to have seen this genius play in our lifetimes.

Just having a look at sites giving their tribute to Shane Warne
The Ball of the Centuryof course gets a lot of love
His 2005 tour of England where he got 40 wickets and added 257 runs with the bat.
His Hat-trick at MCG and 99 vs New Zealand also feature a lot in the tributes.

Great bowler, right up there with the best of the best, he also played some important innings with the bat and his slip fielding was terrific as well. I can also recall games where he as mic'd up and talking about the next delivery he was going to bowl.

In Bulldogs Joe's signature it says that life should be enjoyed not endured and I think that really sums up Shane Warne
While he has gone way too early he certainly learned to live and enjoy his life.

It's just been announced that the MCG will rename the Great Southern Stand the S. K. Warne Stand and that his family has been offered a state funeral.
