I went last time a couple of years back just so I could see Messi. The game was a real let down tbh, unless there's something on the line these big matches suck. No intensity

That is the problem isn't it. They should be playing for something, but what?

Not unless it was a world cup qualifier is it ever going to mean something, but neither would want to give up home ground advantage.

It's just a cash grab by the federations and the MCG. I wouldn't go again.

No. Not going. I have been to so many of these over the years including when the big clubs come over. If they are not playing for anything or if you don't have a vested interests in who wins (or the crowd doesn't) then the atmosphere is often flat.

But you might see Joelinton and Bruno G from the mighty toon!
              That's priceless.

That would be the only reason, to see some international stars, that we don't get to see in the flesh.

Agree. But there is a few issues. 1) Many of the big stars pull out late 2) They often only play part of the game and then you can tell they are just going through the paces

Spot on. They usually swap the entire team at half time. I'm lucky enough to have seen both Ronaldo and Messi but it was very exhibition level.

Was luckier enough to see Messi play against the Socceroos as a 20 year old at the MCG in 2007 and also at the Camp Nou in 2013 in a La Liga game where he scored a brace and set up Villa with a perfect assist. What a player.
